Dutch filmmaker Bram van Splunteren started his career in music journalism. After attending the Nederlandse Filmacademie Van Splunteren became a fulltime filmmaker. His music-documentaries about The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nick Cave, and Iggy Pop garnered international acclaim. The hiphop-documentary ‘Big Fun in the Big Town’ is in English newspaper The Guardian’s Top 20 of best music documentaries.
After having made a slew of music-documentaries Van Splunteren branched out to a variety of other subject matters, such as family life, relationships, The Nation of Islam, Buddhist monks in China, solar cars and philosophy. Van Splunteren also wrote and directed several fiction films.

One of the highlights of Van Splunteren’s work with The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was the first to make a documentary about the band (1988) and followed them for many years.

Prize winning short documentary about 20 year old Claudia who fell from 4 stories high and is now physically and mentally challenged.
